Legal
Terms of Service.
Last updated: August 2026. This is a general template covering the basics of working together — it isn't a substitute for advice from a legal professional.
Overview
These terms govern any video production, editing, or creative services ("Services") provided by Joel Tesfai ("I", "me") to a client ("you") after both parties agree to a project scope. By commissioning a project through this website or by email, you agree to the terms below.
Project Scope & Quotes
Every project starts with a scope and quote based on the details you provide through the contact form or in direct conversation. Any changes to scope, timeline, or deliverables after work has started may affect the final price and delivery date.
Payment
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, projects require a deposit before work begins, with the remaining balance due on delivery of final files. Late payments may delay delivery of final assets.
Usage Rights
Once a project is paid in full, you receive the usage rights agreed upon at the start of the project. Raw footage, project files, and unused takes remain my property unless a separate archive or raw-footage license has been agreed in writing.
Transparency & Scope of Services (AI-Generated Content)
The services include the AI-assisted processing and creation of visual media. The delivered image and video data constitutes synthetically generated content pursuant to Art. 50 of the EU AI Act. The producer assumes no liability or responsibility for the required labeling, disclosure, or regulatory compliance under the EU AI Act once the content is published or used; ensuring full compliance with AI labeling obligations rests solely with the client.
The visualizations serve exclusively marketing and presentation purposes and do not represent a legally binding or exact depiction of reality. No liability is assumed for AI-related deviations, artifacts, or inaccuracies (e.g., textures, lighting conditions, or details).
Rights of use apply exclusively to the client. Any transfer, sublicensing, or sale of the media or parts thereof to third parties requires the express written consent of the producer. Neither the delivered material nor the underlying concept may be used for training artificial intelligence or for generating further AI-based content.
Cancellations
If a project is cancelled after work has begun, the deposit is non-refundable and covers time already invested. Any additional work completed up to the point of cancellation will be billed accordingly.
Limitation of Liability
I'll do everything I can to deliver a great final product, but I can't be held responsible for indirect or consequential losses arising from the use of delivered content, delays caused by third parties, or events outside my reasonable control.
