The Goal
Producing an event documentary for one of David Löhlein's biggest gigs in Stuttgart to date. The event was themed after the cult classic "Fight Club", featuring a custom stage designed entirely like a boxing ring.
The Challenge
The short-notice request demanded extreme flexibility. The main challenge was to shadow the artist and capture everything potentially important without knowing beforehand what that might be. From technical failures right before the start and crew camaraderie to setting up spontaneous interviews with clean audio on the fly, I had to work incredibly fast and agile.
The Approach
I shadowed the artist and his crew closely throughout the entire evening — from the initial stage setup and high-stress moments backstage to the closing and a highly emotional speech afterward. By using a fast-paced, run-and-gun documentary approach, I was able to authentically capture all facets of the night.
The Result
In post-production, this vast array of unpredictable, on-the-fly footage was carefully curated into a cohesive film. The final piece is a raw, honest, and captivating documentary that reflects the immense energy, pressure, and unique essence of this "Fight Club" event.
